The great bathroom remodel begins...
At least I have another bathroom to use while the upstairs bathroom undergoes its transformation. This will be a big project. New--1955 cast iron tub (reuse), built in for towels with laundry chute, heated floors and tile...lots of tile. I'll get some before pics up, and more during the project of the stages. Rotten drywall starts coming out this weekend...

  • since nick didn't do an update saturday night...please allow me to armchair blog from 3500 miles away-

The day started off like this---

Coffee and some baked goods made by his lovely wife OX. A kavu hat that has seen better days, a colorado sweat shirt and a bucket full of demo tools.

3 trips to the ghetto HD store, 1 misread messure, 2 got really lucky on the cuts, and a couple of dead batteries. 1 suprizse behind the old soft drywall, perhaps it was a good suprise and not as bad as we all thought it would have been. But then again maybe it was the corpse of some old seattle critter who tried to hide one cold winter day.

1 pulled back muscle from lifting and prying that old heavy tub. One question from OX "are you sure that will fit?" and one confident, yet somewhat unsure himself answer from nick "of course it will fit!"

Can't wait to see the pictures and hear about the progress. Just looking at the clock I see that you are probably getting up for the day, while my basement is not clean, my grout sealed, and bannana bread has been made.

  • Yeah well it went something like this. Got up like it was almost a work day. Breakfast--I cooked, I normally cook--talk on the phone. Drive 2.5 hours, kayak a beautiful Washington creek. Have a great burger and onion rings (Elbe) afterwards and home by 7 to watch a movie.

Sunday tired from paddling 2 previous days. Still I cook breakfast--note I normally do this. Go to ghetto Lowes, they have what I want, but don't. Can't do any projects. Is that the sound of rain? Paddle local river and then go to a party.

Yep, I'm getting nowhere fast. Honest I'll start it this week...or maybe next week.

Can you talk my wife into making some baked goods? That would be groovy.
